The Anker SOLIX Solarbank 2 E1600 Pro is a plug-in battery storage unit for balcony solar systems, storing surplus PV energy so you can use it in the evening instead of exporting it for free. The "Pro" model is defined by its four solar inputs and an integrated microinverter, making it an all-in-one PV-to-battery-to-plug device.
One E1600 Pro unit gives you 1.6 kWh of usable LiFePO4 (LFP) storage plus a built-in microinverter and a built-in MPPT solar charger — so you don't need a separate inverter. You connect your panels directly to the unit and it feeds AC power into a normal household socket via a plug (Schuko) connection.

The Pro accepts up to four PV strings across its MPPT inputs, letting you connect several panels or different orientations (e.g. east + west) to one device. Its integrated microinverter feeds power to your home; in Germany the AC output is configured to the 800 W balcony-system limit (higher outputs may apply in other regions — check your local rules and the Anker app setting).

1.6 kWh is the base. You can stack BP1600 expansion batteries (1.6 kWh each) onto the same Pro unit to scale storage as your needs grow — Anker specifies expansion up to roughly 9.6 kWh in total. This lets you start small and add capacity later without buying a second system.

All Solarbank 2 versions share the 1.6 kWh LFP core. The Pro is the one with four MPPT solar inputs (most panel flexibility). The Plus has fewer solar inputs, and the AC variant adds AC charging so it can also charge the battery from the grid — useful for time-shifting cheap electricity, which the pure Pro is not primarily built for.

Paired with a compatible Anker smart meter, the Solarbank 2 can follow your household load and target near-zero export (Nulleinspeisung), discharging only what the house actually needs at that moment. You monitor and configure charge/discharge behaviour, output limits and battery reserve in the Anker app over Wi-Fi/Bluetooth.
The unit uses LiFePO4 cells, which Anker rates for a long cycle life and outdoor use (weather-resistant housing rated for outdoor mounting). It is designed as a plug-in balcony device — no dedicated meter cabinet wiring — but you should still confirm your socket circuit, registration and local grid rules before commissioning.
